about
This was the first track we wrote. Ryan and I got the idea one night while talking on the computer to start up a band. We both had acoustic guitars and were just like, "Hell, let's do it!" Initially recorded on just a basic computer microphone and posted to our myspace we created that very day, we stepped it up in April, 2009 when we recorded the rest of the EP. But yeah, this song was the very beginning of Youth in Asia.
lyrics
I have this Grandpa
He used to be so nice
Now he calls me Mexican
And says I have head lice
I have this Grandpa
He used to be so cool
Now he yells at all the help
And shouts out "Crackers rule!"
My racist grandpa
Damn he's just so cruel
My racist grandpa
He's such a bitter fool
My racist grandpa
My racist grandpa
My racist grandpa
He's not allowed 'round schools
I remember Grandma
She left him, I was five
That was when he didn't the Chinese
Oh, how relations die
Grandpa's getting worse
Every single day
He won't come over on holidays
He says my brother's gay
Oh
My racist grandpa
Damn he's just so cruel
My racist grandpa
He's such a bitter fool
My racist grandpa
My racist grandpa
My racist grandpa
He's not allowed 'round schools
My racist grandpa
Damn he's just so cruel
My racist grandpa
He's such a bitter fool
My racist grandpa
My racist grandpa
My racist grandpa
He's not allowed 'round schools
Ryan: What are you doin'!?
Tommy: *sigh* Writing a song Grandpa...
Ryan: Well... don't make it suck!
Tommy: Alright Grandpa...
